A further „slope star“, the famous „Les Grands Montets“, is one of the longest slopes of the skiing region a real challenge is also the so-called Haute Route that goes from Chamonix through the Valais Alps all the way to Zermatt and invites ski tour fans to cross the unique landscape of the French and Swiss Alps for several days. An absolute Mecca is the skiing circuit, of which 90 percent of the slopes are located above 2.000 meters, and are mainly for ambitious and advanced skiers that come to the region Mont Blanc for the versatile slopes. And at altitudes from 1.030 to 3.842 meters on the glacier, ski vacationers do not have to worry about ideal snow conditions on the slope of the region Mont Blanc. On a total of 152 kilometres of slope on 74 downhills, the region Chamonix-Mont Blanc has the right measure for skiers on every level. While you meet a younger, athletically active audience in Argentière, another mountain village with tradition, the more tranquil skiing villages Le Tour, Les Parz and Les Houches draw mainly families with their countryside flair. A slightly more relaxed skiing vacation is possible in the other stations of the region Mont Blanc. The colourful visitor mixture of the world famous skiing region is supplemented by seminar participants and spa guests that also enjoy the combination of an original mountain village and sophisticated winter sports village. The second travel period starts at the end of the skiing season in May when Chamonix turns into a Mecca for hikers and is famous as an ideal starting point for mountain hikes, climbing and glacier tours.
